    Pictured and offered for sale is a Important Post WWII Historical Piece as well as extremely well made, heavy duty Gov't issued knife having a  folding fight knife locking blade , along with multi survival tools designed for harsh forest, and mountain conditions.
    Following the end of WWII and the division of Germany to East and West,  A paramilitary border patrol was established in 1951 for the purpose of patroling the borders.  This patrol group was known as the Bundesgrenzshutz, or the BGS.   The allied occupation forces agreed because of the terrain, vast forests and mountains, that this patrol would be best served using German citizens familiar with the land.   This knifes specifications was agreed for use and issued,
    being armed as "light - infantry" group operating in harsh forests and mountains, with a need for a fighting knife blade.
    THERE WERE NOT MANY OF THESE KNIVES PRODUCED MAKING THEM QUITE RARE.
    CONDITION:   This knife has been in my collection for approx, 35 to 40 years, and has been wrapped in
    saran
    wrap to keep oxidation to a minimum.  Knife does not appear to have been used.   Main 4 inch blade has strong spring snap  both opening and closing, with abrupt half stop.  Blade locks firmly, strong, no wobbles whatsoever.  All tools open and close as designed, with spring snap.   NO defects, NO damage.  Operates as designed when made.  Excellent, minty Condition.
