  • Condition: A triangle patch for the first Armored Corps that has an OD border and a cut edge. that appears to have been used (off uniform). It has the heavy white back which makes it most likely from the first run of patches done by B. Hecker Company. Pre-owned, used and in good condition with no UV glow.

    Description

    From the ARMOR (triangle) collection of a major collector / dealer who is now retired after 60+ years of collecting and 19 years of selling on ebay.  The entire collection of ARMOR will be sold on ebay.  The collection always added variations when possible, so look carefully at what you think is a common version and consider the possible variations; a common example, the size of the lightening bolt.  These patches actually cover the time period of 1939 to the very early 1970's.
    The majority of these patches are mounted on 4" x 5" card stock for display in plastic pages held in binders.  Most of the patches were mounted with glue dots and can easily be removed.  A very large portion of this collection was purchased years ago from an individual  who had white glued the patches to a blue poster board !  Needless to say, there are varying degrees
    of
    glue and paper residue on the backs of many of the patches.  It is possible to remove the residue should you not want the patches mounted.  NOTE:  There are motto tabs/boxes with some of the patches that are appropriate for the unit but not the particular patch based on manufacture.  Most of the mottos are post WW II.
    There were numbers added to patches during the war but many were added later.  At one time (1960's to the early 1970's) such patch manufacturers as PATCH KING and EMBLEMS AND BADGES (both out of New York) were offering any number put onto the apex of the Armor patch.  Some of the PATCH KINGS earlier attempts are hard to spot from the " original " pieces.  EMBLEMS AND BADGES offered
    their
    copies on Armored Patches with an AG CUT EDGE border.
