It is made out to George Brayton Esq. , who in 1794 formed a mercantile business with Jonathan Swan in the Town of Western. This stock certificate was found in the papers of the General William Floyd (one of the signers of the the Declaration of Independence from NY state), who settled in the Town of Western in 1803.
